What are the technical components for Word LX? Word LX is an Microsoft Word add-in that is supported by a web-based administrative console, hosted in Microsoft Azure. The add-in is installed in the user’s instance of Microsoft Word. The web-based administrative console is where we manage client templates, author and user information and other settings. The Microsoft add-in connects to the webservice to access templates and other system configuration support but an offline mode is also available for users. Word LX does not require any on-premise servers to be installed in a client’s IT infrastructure to support the product.
Does Word LX integrate with Document Management System?Yes, Infoware/Word LX is a technology partner with iManage and Net Documents and can integrate with many other document management systems.
Can Word LX integrate with other software?Yes, Word LX integrates with various practice management, document management, and CRM systems, including Outlook, iManage, and NetDocuments, to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
How are software updates deployed to Word LX for new features and enhancements? Word LX software updates are deployed through an auto-update feature. When the Word LX add-in launches it will update automatically as appropriate. Other update options exist for clients that want to manage and control the timing of software updates based on their internal change-management processes.
Does Word LX support multiple languages?
The Word LX UI is available in English and French. Word LX does provide multi-language support for template automation whereby the drop down menu options in the data fill task panes can be presented to the user in a wide range of languages to automate document drafting in other languages.

Can Word LX Integrate with 3rd Party Contact Management Systems? Yes. Word LX integrates with Outlook to merge client contact / recipient information into correspondence and other templates. Word LX also integrates with Interaction and has the ability to integrate with other 3rd party systems and databases. To determine compatibility with a specific system it would be necessary for our technical team to learn more about the software application / data source as well as use case requirements for merging data into Word LX templates.
Is it easy to manage and update our template collection?Word LX includes a “no-code” template design feature that allows you to update existing templates and add new ones to their collection. The template design feature allows users to quickly add firm logos, and other branding elements into documents as well other automation placeholders for contact information variable data through the click of a mouse. The Word LX template manager makes it simple to save, categorize and share templates across your firm or to specific users.
Do clients have access to the Word LX admin panel? Yes. A client firm can technically give all users access to the Word LX Admin Panel but most firms allocate a few internal users – ie: IT, Application Specialists, Trainers – as “Admins” who are responsible for the firm’s template collection and administration of the system.
Does Word LX support US pleadings? Yes. Word LX can support requirements for US pleadings. These forms can be automated with data fields for Author, Client, Matter information and much more.
